IDDI is dedicated to providing quality, comprehensive services to the children and adults in its care. Our primary objective is helping individuals achieve their full potential and optimal level of independence, while enjoying lives that are self-determined and fulfilling. Our philosophy is to provide a diverse and dynamic environment that both stimulates and educates. We accomplish this through our broad spectrum of programs and services, in addition to community involvement and social activities.
IDDI's goals and objectives are accomplished by:
- Providing educational, day habilitation and residential services that utilize active treatment practices to assist individuals in achieving their personal best as determined in their individual Education, Habilitation, Support and/or Treatment plans.
- Maintaining a diverse training program for staff to ensure that their skills enable them to provide maximum assistance and support to residents.
- Creating environments that are increasingly barrier-free and incorporating adapted equipment into those environments in order to foster increased independence.
- Promoting respect for every individual and treating each with dignity.
- Continuing a policy of open access between residents and their families and friends.
- Encouraging and enabling residents to be full participants in their local communities.
