Susan Bouchard-Young
Executive Director

Ms. Bouchard-Young is an original incorporator of IDDI. Educated at the State University of New York in Oswego, she sharpened her administration and management skills at Yokota Air Base in Japan where she helped establish and maintain information systems for the Office of Management and Budget at the base. In 1977, Ms. Bouchard-Young joined the fiscal services department at IDDI's predecessor, Crystal Springs School, Inc., where her skill and experience greatly improved that organization's fiscal and business management and facilitated transition to the new corporate entity, IDDI. As Executive Director, Ms. Bouchard-Young oversees and directs the work of agency-wide and program-specific senior managers. She reviews and approves all new or changed policies; manages regulatory and fiscal compliance; and is principal liaison between IDDI's Board of Directors and staff. In collaboration with the Board, she approves all major program development and capital expenditures that will enhance services and supports. Ms. Bouchard-Young is directly available to the parents and guardians of all IDDI residents to discuss ideas, hear concerns, or simply to speak about an individual's progress.

Kimberli Bettencourt
Managing Director

Kimberli A. (Lopes) Bettencourt earned a Masters degree in Intensive Special Education from Boston College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Intensive Special Education from Westfield State College. Ms. Bettencourt also attended Wheelock College and as a result earned her Director status with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

For 20 years, Ms. Bettencourt worked at the Schwartz Center for Children, first as a Special Education Teacher and subsequently held the position of Day School Director for the last 13 years. Prior to work at the Schwartz Center, Ms. Bettencourt was a Primary Instructor at New Bedford Harbor Services, providing residential support to adults with significant disabilities. She was also a staff instructor for the Pioneer Developmental Center assisting adults with community involvement and recreation.

Ms. Bettencourt’s expertise is in the area of children and young adults with significant medical, multisensory impairments and deafblindness. She works specifically with public schools and other human service agencies servicing people with disabilities and speaks extensively on issues surrounding children and young adults with special needs, supporting families and assisting school programs. Ms. Bettencourt enjoys teaching and has taught courses for Wheelock College, Boston College and Bristol Community College as well as consultation and training to numerous child care centers in the Greater New Bedford area.

John Kershaw
Director of Children’s Services

Mr. Kershaw came to IDDI as an intern in the Psychology Department in 1999. While completing his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts he spent time both as a staff psychologist and residential manager. After becoming licensed as a teacher of students with severe disabilities and receiving a Master’s degree in Education from Lesley University, Mr. Kershaw served as aclassroom teacher and then the Director of Education. Before coming to IDDI Mr. Kershaw worked in the retail industry involved in sales and management. As IDDI's Director of Children's Services, Mr. Kershaw directly supports the Directors of Education; Psychology; Residential Services and Social Services as well as the Program Supervisor team. Mr. Kershaw oversees budgets, staffing, quality assurance, and all other organizational needs of the Children's Program departments.

Keith Duhamel
Director of Adult Services

Mr. Duhamel joined the management staff of IDDI in 2004. A 1985 graduate of Johnson and Wales College, Mr. Duhamel has been involved in adult human services since that time. His prior experience includes direct care as well as management. He spent approximately ten years managing state-operated residences for the Department of Mental Retardation and was later employed as director of the supported housing program for a private human service agency serving individuals with mental illness and substance abuse. Mr. Duhamel supports the Directors of Assonet Bay Life Skills Environment (A.B.L.E.) programs, Psychology, Residential Services, and Social Services in the Adult Program.  He oversees the budgets, staffing, quality assurance and all other organizational needs of these Adult Program departments.

Russell Goyette
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Goyette began his association with IDDI in 1986 when he became the Staff  Accountant after receiving a B.A. in Accounting from Southeastern Massachusetts  University. During his time as Staff Accountant, Mr. Goyette worked cooperatively with IDDI's Director of Fiscal Services, external auditors, consultants and vendors to transition fiscal operations from manual to fully computerized systems. As IDDI's CFO Russell Goyette manages all contracts for goods and services provided by or to IDDI; monitors and reviews monthly, quarterly and annual budget data; oversees capital purchases; supervises the work of business office personnel; and ensures that adequate fiscal and material resources are available to support all IDDI programs.

Debra Pittman
Human Resources Director

Ms. Pittman has been employed at IDDI since 1998 as the Human Resources Director, having been previously employed as the payroll clerk from 1995 to 1997. She graduated magna cum laude from Taunton High School and attended courses at Bristol Community College. Ms. Pittman has attended seminars regarding labor laws, training, supervising, and interviewing. Currently, she is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management and working toward her certification with the Human Resources Certificate Institute. She has been employed in the human service/human resources field since 1985. Ms. Pittman coordinates all employment supports for IDDI programs. Her work encompasses recruitment; payroll and benefits administration; workers' compensation; and incentive programs.  She is also responsible for preparing all Human Resource statistical reports required by state and federal agencies. Ms. Pittman is one of the CORI Officers for IDDI.

Lucy Pacheco
Executive Assistant

Ms. Pacheco has been a proud member of the IDDI community since 1990. After receiving an Associates Degree in Accounting, she assumed the position of Accounts Payable bookkeeper. In 2000, Ms. Pacheco was selected as Executive Assistant where she manages the schedules of IDDI’s Executive and Managing Directors; supervises two administrative assistants; coordinates Board of Directors meetings and several different functions; oversees communications and security systems and ensures that the entire administrative office runs smoothly and efficiently.

In addition to her capable oversight of IDDI administrative functions, Ms. Pacheco serves as agency wide EEO officer.
